Meet JON BREWERTON

So what is my story? I could write about what I think you may wish to know about me including completing an MBA through the University of Otago in 2005 after spending a number of years working in sales for a number of corporates including Geac Computers, Turners Auctions, Comacc Payroll (now MYOB Payroll) and others. I could tell you I have a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Marketing and IT and have been self employed as a business advisor since 2003 helping SME owners to create better systems in their business to free them from the tyranny of time, money, and poor performing employees.

However that would only tell you part of the story about why Beckon is an important evolutionary step to take. My observations of organisations over the years is that they are driven less by the processes set by management and more by the personality of those in leadership. Often those who think they are the leaders of the organisation are not the ones creating the major influences within the business.

In a world where smart organisations will be leaders, there is a need for all of us to understand our motivations and personal behaviours that affect the world in which we wish to operate. This may be within an organisation but equally applies to larger networks including family, friends, and significant other groups.

Isolation is a major influence impacting good business and life decisions. Often we wish everyone else to live up to their ideals and are not committed enough to reveal and hold our own. Isolation can only be broken by modelling expected behaviours. I have been priviledged enough to have spent a number of years working the area of personal development with men and women in large and small groups.

The ability to change our stories from those of competition, power over, every man and women for themselves, and individuality into stories of working together for common outcomes, supporting each other in times of need, and showing our true selves is the task of this age.

For what shall it profit a man, if he gain the whole world, and suffers the loss of his soul? (King James Bible)
